Minnesota found itself in the crosshairs of 4 days’ worth of hailstorms in May of 2022.

Starting May 9th, 2022 Minnesota found itself hit with storm after storm. With up to 3″ hail, many populated areas saw extensive property damage from the storms. Based on both size and density variables, different degrees of damage are obviously at play, but C3 Group’s team had boots on the ground to help our clients evaluate and assess the extent of their property damage.

Should I File an Insurance Claim for Hail Damage?

When hail hits your property it is always a good idea to have a professional evaluate the damage. Having a proper inspection and damage assessment can help you determine when damage has occurred before filing a potentially frivolous claim. When filing your claim, you should have all the facts to present at the time of filing so that you are setting the appropriate expectations for your insurance carrier. In doing this, you are not only allowing them to assign the appropriate adjuster to your claim, but you are ultimately setting your claim up for success and an expedited process. What Kind Of Damage Does 3-Inch Hail Cause?

The misconception is often that damage only occurs when there is “large hail.” But what is large hail? Does the density of the hail matter? View our recreation of what damage can occur to concrete tile roofs even when the hail is “small.” WATCH HERE

Hail damage impacts building materials differently and it is important to have someone inspect the damage that understands and knows how to properly assess the damage to specific material types on your property. Such as, the proper assessment of commercial building materials is much different than that of a residential building. So, if you have been impacted by hail, it is important to make sure that your public adjuster, contractor, or adjuster specializes in your specific property type and/or materials.
